he called it cymbeline is an immersive rendering of Shakespeare’s CYMBELINE. In this world, the audience must choose their own adventure, but no matter what, there will be s’mores and there will be dancing.

Rooted in, but diverging from the original script, this movement-theater production comes out of a story of men forgiving violence to shore up their hold on power. he called it cymbeline centralizes the stories of women who question why they should bear the brunt of that brutality - and who are silenced for their questioning.  In this experiential event, the audience cannot possibly see everything, and must decide for themselves who they believe and who they forgive.

he called it cymbeline includes additional text by Kate St. John, Amy Shoshana Blumberg, the performing ensemble, and testimony from members of the local sexual assault survivor community.
